Food, entertainment and some culture in Reykjavik
Food Fun Reykjavik

On Saturday 22nd August 2015, Menningarnótt (Culture Night) will be held in Reykjavík for the 20th time.
Despite the name, the Culture Night is not a stuffy event filled with lectures and conferences – all the opposite! The Culture Night is one of Reykjavik‘s biggest festivals, featuring many street entertainments, food stalls, concerts and celebrations all over town: in the streets, square, museums, and even in some private homes and workplaces! Let us give you an idea of the type of celebrations: a popular regular event on the day's programme is the waffles-and-coffee snack in the Þingholt neighbourhood, where several residents open up their homes and offer coffee and dessert to all passers-by. Doesn’t it sound fun?

The Festival closes with a concert downtown and a large firework show at midnight, by the Harpa music hall.

If you are in Reykjavík on the 22nd, we warmly advise you check out the programme at www.menningarnott.is – whatever your age and tastes, you are bound to find some fun events to your liking!
